![]() ![]() Its absolutely one of the best sounding, most useful, 2-buss comps in our room. ![]() That thing almost never leaves my mix buss. ![]() Have you messed around with this unit?+1 for the D/A/O. Although I have heard really cool things about the ALTA MODA UNICOMP compressor. Thanks for the tip on the Obsidian - as always, you got the scoop on the cool gear hehĪfter reading the tape op review of the Obsidian, it sounds like a better try one out. A little mojo on a stereo bus compressor is a good thing, but not a lot. In a nutshell: I would like a stereo bus compressor that is flexible, punchy, and can keep the low end rockin - but I want it to do this without imparting too strong of a sonic footprint. In contrast my SSL leaves the high frequencies and midrange alone, but can grab too much of the bass frequencies if you are not careful. I hated what it did to the high frequencies and midrange - again this is like anything else and is just a preference. This could be a good thing or a bad thing - but most of the time I only liked it on hard rock projects. it always had a very strong sonic footprint on the mixes, no matter how subtle I used it. The SSL will totally demolish your low-end if you don't know how to use it. ![]() I loved the " thrust" feature, and how it handled the low-end. I loved how easy it was to make mixes punchy Here's what I liked about the 2500 when I did have it I'm looking for an alternative to the API 2500 compressor - it will mainly be used as a stereo mix buss compressor to complement my SSL buss compressor. ![]()
